How to use Mahsa Alert
Mahsa Alert is designed to be usable without instructions, but this guide helps you get the most out of it: reading the map, receiving alerts, and submitting reports.
Using the map and layers
The home page shows a map of Iran. From the layers menu you can toggle each category of information (such as confirmed strikes, military zones, or pharmacies). Tapping a marker shows that location's details, including its description and report date.
Getting alerts
To receive urgent alerts, enable notifications in your browser or in the app. Mahsa Alert is available for iOS and Android, and the web version can be installed as a PWA — start from the get-the-app page. Our Telegram channel also relays alerts.
Submitting an anonymous report
If you know an important location (a military base, a strike site, troop deployments), select that point on the map and write your report. A good report has a precise pin, a short factual description of what you saw, and no names or personal information.
Your report is encrypted on your device before it is sent and is fully anonymous. After review, credible reports are added to the map.
Tracking your reports
The "My reports" section shows the status of reports submitted from your device. The list is decrypted only on your device.
Using it during internet disruptions
Both the web and mobile apps cache map data on your device so they remain usable on weak or unstable connections. If the map stops updating, switch connections and try again.
