About Mahsa Alert
Mahsa Alert is a grassroots, nonprofit platform built to deliver fast and accurate information about security events in Iran. The project is not affiliated with any political group or government and is developed and maintained by independent volunteers.
At its core is an interactive map that shows alerts, community reports, and important locations in real time, so people can make faster, better-informed decisions during repression, crisis, and insecurity.
What does the map show?
Map layers include confirmed strikes, military zones and bases, Basij and police facilities, air-defense and radar systems, nuclear-program sites and missile facilities, prisons, surveillance cameras, evacuation warnings, pharmacies, and citizen reports.
Each layer can be toggled independently so you only see the information that matters to you.
Where does the data come from?
The map is built from anonymous public reports and open sources. A review team cross-checks each report against other reports and existing data, removing duplicates and false entries. Locations added from citizen reports are tagged as unverified.
This is community-sourced data: it can be incomplete or contain errors, so always weigh it alongside other sources.
Privacy and anonymity
No account is needed to use Mahsa Alert. Reports are encrypted on your device before they are sent, and only the review team can read their contents. No identifying information is requested, and we recommend you do not include personal details in your reports either.
