Is Mahsa Alert free to use?
Yes. Mahsa Alert is completely free and requires no account or registration.
Is reporting really anonymous?
Yes. Reports are encrypted on your device before being sent, and only the review team can read them. No identifying information is requested. For extra safety, do not include names or personal details in your report text.
Where does the map data come from?
From anonymous public reports and open sources. The review team cross-checks and verifies reports, and locations added from citizen reports are tagged as unverified.
Why is a location missing or wrong?
The data is community-sourced and can be incomplete. If you know a location that's missing, report it; if something is recorded incorrectly, submit a report on that spot saying it's wrong so it gets reviewed.
Does it work offline?
The app and the web version cache map data on your device and remain usable on weak connections. An internet connection is required to receive new alerts.

Who runs Mahsa Alert?
Independent volunteers, under Holistic Resilience, a U.S.-registered nonprofit. Mahsa Alert is not affiliated with any political group or government.
