Fox Business covered Mahsa Alert in a report titled “With no missile alerts and a regime's internet blackout, app offers lifeline to Iranian civilians”.

The piece focuses on the scale involved: roughly 93 million civilians inside Iran without a missile alert system and without reliable internet access, and about 4 million people of Iranian origin worldwide cut off from family at home. Fox Business describes how Holistic Resilience, a group of engineers working on internet freedom, runs Mahsa Alert as a response, and notes that the app is named after Mahsa Amini.

This coverage mattered to us because of who it reached. A large share of our traffic comes from Iranians abroad who relay information inside, and appearing in mainstream U.S. media helped the project become visible to exactly that group.
